Reflective
In this particular shoot I used a reflective sheet of white paper lined up to the bottom of a soft box to create a completely white background for my images within . I positioned the soft box behind the still life objects, in this case i used perfume bottles and photographed them simply on their own or in basic compositions in order to create effects through depth of field and shaddow. In order to attain a clear reflection within the photograph i carefully thought about the particular angle in which i took the photograph from to get the best effect from the relective paper and also for my image to look as crisp and parralel as possible.
I found within my shoot that it was best to capture the photographs from straight on rather than from above as it was more difficult present the reflection of the object, the camera was unable to create the reflection that i desired within my images and therefore created a shadowed obscurety rather than a crisp final image.
The most successful part of this shoot was experimenting with the distance and composition, adjusting the rotation and depth in which the objects are placed within in my images. Also the use of focus went particularly well in some of my images creates shaddow and highlight naturally rather than using photoshop allowing the onlooker to engage and comprehend my whole image and the way i have carefully composed my objects in order to create this captifying effect.
However to improve next time i could experiment more with differnt shaped bottles in one image creating a composition of them, or even collect some other man made or natural objects in order to furthermorestrengthen my understanding of still life photography.
