Antonio Mora
Double exposure portraits by Spanish-based artist Antonio Mora, which blend human and nature worlds into surreal photographs. Antonio Mora originally graduated from graphic design and after his studies, he started a personal design studio which turned him into an art director for 15 years, however he gradually decided to concentrate on his creative media flow. Mora works with images found online, in magazines and blogs, and then
elegantly blends two elements together in order to form an abstract fusion producing the effect of  distinct lines and shapes no longer appearing evident to the human eye. Playing with opacity and composition, Mora finds a likeness in unlikely pairs, turning limbs of a tree into an extension of a persons face, transforming simple portraits into dreamy landscapes. Each image holds its own unique and complementary elements for the onlooker, effecting them in different ways. Caught somewhere between two thoughts, the images represent a transitioning phase of consciousness. Mora describes his artworks as cocktails, mixing ordinary elements into expressive artworks.

In this image Mora creates an illusion depicting a mountain for the upper half of the head, almost producing the effect of a broken face. The use of highlight and lowlights on the face creates tonal effect that makes the features of the face stand out greater than before. The tonal effect created by dodge and burn tools allow the background image to effortlessly blend into the portrait image. The use of monochrome  in the image also creates a aesthetically pleasing image  for the onlooker as well as making it easier for Mora to blend and create a clear and crisp image almost looking realistic.

In this image compared to the other by Mora includes a more detailed transition image that blends the two images together. This image is of water that Mora has merged into the portrait has been carefully amalgamated creating an amazing visual effect on the eye.
The main focal point of this image is the transition of the portrait into the water and also the detailed water splash at the top of the photograph, expanding to fill the top of the photograph.

Above is my own example of Mora's transition work i used two of my own photographs in order to create my own unique image in his particular style of work. However i produced my image so that the back of the head has the illusion of expanding into tree twigs instead of having the full silhouette still in the background like Mora.
